A New Era
Today was the AGM and I didn’t think too hard on it – what being here meant, what being committed to a shura was, what this opportunity even implied. For so long, I have dreamed of this, known it was something I had to do – however it was like a blind dream. But only when each member began speaking and reflecting, falling and rising, feeling and crying, listening and internalising – did I begin to truly think.
Epic and emotional. I cant relay nor say which speech was my favourite because I will never do them justice.
The old reflected on their experiences and the new on the future to come. Old legends fell, new ones rose.
There was a shift in the air, a change in the winds. It was the start of a new era.
A new page for us all. Each member sat hand picked and blessed by Allah for this opportunity to serve Him. All the impacts, sincerity, relationships, renewal, growth, change, development, accountability, experience, memories, excitement, friendship, mistakes, learning and more that was ahead of them. Allah truly loved them. Allah could have chosen anyone, but it was this combination and these individuals. There was no ego, this was a pure blessing for them to be given this opportunity to give back. It would seem they were the ones who were dedicating time and effort, but it was for no one but themselves. On the outside, they served others – but truly they served and helped themselves.
They sat unknowing of the greatness that lay ahead. But they would only see if they viewed with the lens of hope and sincerity. It was time for work and dedication. It was time for a rebirth. No more playing around Amira.
This moment was one that would change their lives.
